I Cornered My Ex-Husband at the River of Forgetfulness to Seize His Soul [New Ghost Story: The Beautiful Maiden]

#What is it like to run into your former partner while power-leveling for someone?

Thanks for the invite. I've played the PC game New Chinese Ghost Story for ten years, quit for half a year, and came back to make a name for myself across the server.

Right after the server merge, I was power-leveling for a friend in the cross-server league and managed to make an enemy of the biggest guild on the server.

The reason is pretty embarrassing. One of the kids in our guild was just short of maxing out Soul Seizer, so they secretly led a team to Wrongful Death City to mooch off the God of Food. They walked right into the crosshairs and got slaughtered.

Someone else might have let it go, but not me.

That very day, I bought back the account I'd sold through the in-game auction house, cleared out the whole market's stock of gems, and returned to the top of the rankings as a radiant healer overnight.

For the next week, the whole server was talking about a crazy woman named Youyi, who led a team of top-tier accounts in a death match against [All Gods Return], camping their spawn points around the clock to seize their souls.

No one knew I'd been the guild leader's partner for five years.

No one knew I'd searched for him for five days, while he'd searched for me for half a year.

Theme: After all the twists and turns, those meant to meet will find each other again.
