My Wife Returns [Short Story]

[Recommended: The completed historical romance The Lanling Bride in my collection]

Blurb:

Everyone knows me as a victorious general,

but no one knows that there were two of us.

I won both fame and fortune, and managed to survive, but guilt weighed on my heart. So I took my young daughter and withdrew to the mountains, thinking every day of my wife's return.

They say my wife will return. I never believed it, but to save her, I'd go to hell without fearing a hundred deaths.

Note:

This short story was written years ago, when my writing was average, and I haven't revised it much. I wrote it to help me recover from the aftermath of a heartbreaking ending.

Theme: Peace throughout the land
