After Marrying a Wicked Spirit

[The prologue is in first person; the main story is entirely in third person.]

Yu Jianxing, an adventure streamer mocked as a pretty boy.

To get more views, he chased the latest trend and led his team into the supposedly haunted Yin Lord's Cave on Mount Lao at night.

As they ventured deep into the cave, a drop of blood fell from the ceiling.

After they returned, the entire team came down with low-grade fevers.

After a while, everyone recovered except Yu Jianxing. In a daze, he dreamed he was wearing a decaying red wedding gown and had fallen into something narrow. Something carried him, swaying, back to Yin Lord's Cave... When he woke, his whole body felt awful, and large patches of his skin had turned blue and purple.

After this went on for a long time, he noticed his belly slowly growing.

Yu Jianxing went for a checkup, but the doctors found nothing. Recalling what had happened to him, he turned pale and asked a Taoist priest at a temple.

The priest told him he was carrying a ghost fetus.

Yu Jianxing's entire worldview collapsed. He was on the verge of madness.

He paid the priest a fortune to help him dig up Yin Lord's Cave and grind the dead ghost inside to dust!

Before they set out, the priest stood beneath the shade of a tree. His young face was shrouded in darkness, his eyes black and unfathomable, as he watched Yu Jianxing in silence.

[My wife, my wife...]

[I love you so much.]

[You can't kill me.]

[I will always watch you... and wait for you to come down, so our whole family can be together.]
