Spring Rain, Clear Evening

Synopsis

Xiao Yuwei and Shen Yuyan were childhood friends who grew up together.

When they were ten, Shen Yuyan moved to City A, a thousand miles away.

After that, Shen Yuyan called Xiao Yuwei every night, and the two promised to attend the same university.

At fifteen, Shen Yuyan lost her number, and they lost touch.

At eighteen, Xiao Yuwei, who had always excelled at school, faced a family upheaval and failed the college entrance exam.

Shen Yuyan, meanwhile, went from one success to another.

After graduating at twenty-two, Xiao Yuwei got a job selling cars at an automotive company.

Shen Yuyan had become a Silicon Valley elite, earning one graduate degree after another.

An accidental reunion brought them back into contact.

One night after they met again, Xiao Yuwei got drunk and called Shen Yuyan to ask for a favor.

During the call, Xiao Yuwei vaguely remembered how incoherently she spoke. Her drunkenness gave her the courage to say what she wanted.

But there was only silence on the other end.

Only later did Xiao Yuwei learn

that her call had been muted.

"...I hope you have a bright future."

After hanging up, Xiao Yuwei endured the pain and blocked Shen Yuyan on every platform.

Five years later, at a banquet on Shanghai's Bund.

Twenty-seven-year-old Xiao Yuwei was now a renowned qipao model. Under the spotlight, every move she made was graceful and composed, and even her hair seemed to shine.

When they met again, Xiao Yuwei was completely calm.

"Hello, Mr. Shen. Long time no see."

She extended her hand with perfect poise, her gaze as composed as if she were looking at a stranger.

The man before her, now worth over a hundred million, suddenly tightened his fingers around his wineglass. For an instant, the eyes that were always rational and cold lost their focus.
