A Pretty Socially Anxious Person Isn’t Everyone’s Least Favorite!

Because of her cold, fierce-looking demeanor, Lin Qingyin has been labeled "unapproachable and hard to get along with." Only she knows the truth: she's just socially anxious.

But life is tough, so a kitty has to perform for her supper.

Recently, a newcomer started streaming on Pink Peach. His voice is lovely and he dances beautifully, yet he insists on wearing a cat costume. Cats are adorable, of course, but netizens had some scathing takes:

"He must be really ugly, or why would he hide his face?"

"Is this what they mean by an indescribable horror?"

As it happened, the Pink Peach platform was preparing to launch a live-streamed animal-themed dating show, inviting popular streamers to join. Lin Qingyin made the list after a public vote.

The show's rules said that anyone who survived the first episode and continued on would have to remove their disguise. Lin Qingyin planned to turn down the invitation.

Then, after an accident, she learned that she was a character in a book, and so detested that she would be voted off in the very first episode.

Lin Qingyin thought: Since I'll get voted off in the end anyway, I might as well accept. Every little bit of money helps.

After joining the show, Lin Qingyin thought she was just there to make up the numbers. Who knew she'd actually be kept on? Bound by her contract, she had no choice but to take off her cat head.

Without it, Lin Qingyin was so nervous she could barely breathe. Her partner, Shen Nanyu, had an especially powerful presence, and he was also the boss of her company. Whenever she was around him, she got so nervous she couldn't speak.

In the end, Shen Nanyu could take it no longer and cornered her. "Do you hate me that much?"

Lin Qingyin stammered, "I-I-I'm just s-socially anxious."

Only then did netizens realize she was the legendary social-anxiety sufferer, and they flooded the comments:

"My darling is so cute, I'm smitten!"

"Whose gorgeous little beauty is this? So adorable!"

Before long, Shen Nanyu suddenly posted on Weibo, claiming her as his own: "Lin Qingyin is mine. Please don't go stealing someone else's wife."

Netizens: "!"
