Fan Hua first met Hodson in 2106, after an energy disaster broke out in the Federation's Thirteenth District.

Her commander handed her a photograph and said, “This is your new target: Hodson. You need to obtain the energy starstone we need from him.”

Fan Hua looked at the photograph and smiled. “All right.”

This was a mission she had to complete as a starstone hunter.

When the mission was over, she smiled at Hodson the same way.

“I'm leaving. And I'm taking the starstone with me.”

Hodson merely smiled.

“From the very beginning, the plan was to lure me in. That never changed, did it?”

“Yes.”

“You deliberately revealed your identity in front of me. That was planned, too, wasn't it?”

“Yes.”

“So what we had was only part of the mission, right?”

“Of course.”

Hodson smiled. “Starstone hunters really are heartless.”

Fan Hua said, “No, you're wrong.”

“Oh?”

She smiled. “Starstone hunters don't have hearts at all.”
