The Princess Sits Back and Waits for Her Catch

Blurb:

The Sima dynasty passed down to Emperor Xian, but the empire was in its twilight, its fate all but sealed.

Chi Ying arrived at this precarious moment, when the Sima dynasty was just one breath away from falling.

She was a princess. Her father was the previous emperor, and her uncle was the current one.

Unfortunately, the princess was a pushover. Bullied by one of the emperor's consorts, she fell into a pond and drowned.

Chi Ying was a disgruntled wage slave brimming with resentment. She climbed out of the pond, water dripping from her, walked over one step at a time, raised her hand, and slapped the emperor's favorite consort twice across the face!

How could a princess have such a miserable life? Even the servants could bully her? She was baffled, but deeply shocked. She knew how to put on a show, too.

“I am a direct descendant of Emperor Wu. How dare you offend me?”

.

The next morning, Chi Ying discovered that she hadn't just transmigrated into another world. She had transmigrated into a book.

It was a sweet historical romance novel she'd read out of sheer boredom. The heroine was the fifth princess, Sima Yunmeng, the older sister of Chi Ying's character, Sima Chiying.

The heroine had a bewitching charm that drew admirers from far and wide, including:

The upright, self-disciplined third son of a family in the Censorate.

The unruly, rebellious second son of a mighty general.

The refined, aloof eldest son of the Grand Minister of Works.

As for Chi Ying, she was just an extra princess.

Unfortunately, the extra was a foil, and the main cast kept coming around.

The Sima dynasty was on the verge of collapse, beset by internal strife, external threats, and conspiracies.

Chi Ying couldn't stay calm: Could you people pay a little attention to matters of state?

I really don't want to die young!

In my last life, I was a wage slave. In this one, I'm royalty. I deserve this, and nobody's taking my princess status away!
