The Mermaid and Her Keeper

The first time Zhao Shuqing saw Lin Feng trapped in a tank, she was stunned by her breathtaking figure. As a marine biologist, Zhao Shuqing couldn't wait to touch the mermaid's beautiful blue tail. The mermaid trembled involuntarily, staring at her in disbelief with a pair of lovely sea-blue eyes. When Zhao Shuqing tried to explore further, touching a more private place, Miss Mermaid smacked her hard across the face and swam back to the deepest part of the tank.

So Zhao Shuqing stayed up all night cramming on mermaids:

1. Only a mermaid's partner is allowed to touch her tail.

2. Mermaids go into heat in March or April, and each mermaid has only one partner in her lifetime.

3. When a mermaid courts someone, she will offer her scales, but no human has ever received a mermaid's scale.

4. Mermaids have minds and the ability to speak, and can learn human language through extended contact with humans.

5. ...

Although she'd been slapped hard, the next day Miss Mermaid still chose Zhao Shuqing from among all the marine biologists to be her researcher. But every time Zhao Shuqing stroked the mermaid's tail, the other woman would tremble all over, eyes red, as if struggling to suppress some impulse.

On Zhao Shuqing's birthday, she received a special gift from Miss Mermaid: a sea-blue mermaid scale.

From that day on, Zhao Shuqing would often find unusual little things in the mermaid's room: her personal clothes, a pen she'd lost, and little stickers she'd casually given her.

Zhao Shuqing increasingly felt this couldn't go on, so she decided at the last minute to take a business trip across the ocean. She never expected Miss Mermaid to swim all the way there from the sea. With her beautiful blue tail, she hooked Zhao Shuqing's legs, buried her face against the other woman's neck, and eagerly offered her tail to be touched.

Lin Feng looked at her with red eyes and said, "You're the one who made the first move. Only you can touch my tail..."

[Reading notes and warnings]

1. Mermaids live for 500 years and are older than the protagonist. Including her tail fin, a mermaid is over two meters tall, with a tail about 50 centimeters long. Once ashore, she turns into a human and returns to normal size.

Sun Heng meets her online friend in person and flees in alarm when she discovers the girl has only just come of age. But the younger girl is incredibly persistent and insists on dating her. With no other choice, Sun Heng decides to meet the girl's parent and report her for dating too young.

But the first time she sees Shen Moran, Sun Heng is spellbound. Shen Moran has long, straight black hair and rimless glasses. She's beautiful and intelligent, and sitting beside the cafe window, she looks like a painting.

So beautiful? I'm in love.

After doing everything she can to meet Shen Moran, Sun Heng finally gets her out on a date, only to find Shen Moran flushed from head to toe and reeking of alcohol, leading her toward the bed. She takes off Sun Heng's coat herself and even gives her a smack on the butt.

Sun Heng: ...

Not sure yet. Let's see if she'll take off another piece.

The first time Shen Moran sees Sun Heng, she thinks there's something wrong with her. Standing there in a black trench coat, she starts winking at her.

Shallow. Disgusting.

Shen Moran warns her younger sister: "Don't associate with her. She's not a good person."

Her sister says, "No way. Sister Heng is really nice."

Shen Moran: "Then you're blind."

Later, when Sun Heng is on a business trip, Shen Moran corners her in a hotel room and refuses to let her go out to a bar.

Sun Heng: "Attorney Shen, didn't you say anyone who falls for me must be blind?"

Shen Moran: "I'm blind, okay? I'm blind!"
