[My other novel, "Life as a Maid in Ancient Times," is currently updating. Please add it to your reading list.]
Wei Yixuan transmigrated into a book.
The good news: She became the heroine.
The bad news: It was a groveling romance where the hero chases after his wife after losing her.
Wei Yixuan silently went over the entire story in her mind. After the heroine was divorced, she returned home and soon became depressed and bedridden. Only then did her ex-husband finally realize how important she was and come back to make amends.
By now, most of the novel's painful scenes had already played out. A divorce letter landed right in front of Wei Yixuan, who had just transmigrated into the book.
Wei Yixuan grabbed her little bundle and went straight home. She wasn't about to waste her time with some lousy man.
But there was her honest, simple father, her sickly mother, and her two young siblings...
Wei Yixuan rolled up her sleeves, first chasing her ex-husband two miles away, then picking up a spatula and setting up a little food stall.
The whole family worked together, turning their snack stall into a well-known restaurant. Before long, the Wei family had rosy cheeks and strong, healthy bodies.
The Wei family's food business was thriving, and they served a different selection of delicious dishes every day.
The aroma drifted through the cracks in the Jiang family's door. Jiang Yuzhou, who was once again cooking noodles, thought, "I should go ask Lady Wei for a favor today."
Notes:
1. Set in a fictional world, slow burn, lighthearted everyday life among ordinary townsfolk.
2. The romance doesn't take up much of the story.
3. A happy ending where the family is content with modest prosperity. The hero ends up as a seventh-rank official.

Below is the blurb for my upcoming novel "Life as a Maid in Ancient Times":
Ye Jinqian transmigrated into the lowest-ranking maid in a marquis's household. Meat was a rare sight in her meals, at night she squeezed onto a shared bed with seven or eight others, and every morning she had to heat water. She couldn't even catch a glimpse of the true masters of the household.
Unwilling to have someone hold her indenture and casually marry her off to some young servant, Ye Jinqian began quietly observing the different courtyards and households.
In the rear courtyard, the madams and concubines of three branches fought over household authority and their children's futures, all while harboring private resentments.
Several young ladies awaiting marriage competed over jewelry and dresses, vying to be the one who made the biggest impression at banquets.
There were also several young masters: some were spoiled brats who caused trouble, while others were dull and foolish.
Each household had its own share of excitement, but Ye Jinqian had her sights set on the Old Madam's Shou'an Hall. The reason was simple: the Old Madam was kind and gentle. Though she kept out of the household's affairs, she was still the most senior person there. If Ye Jinqian could win her favor, get her indenture papers, and earn a little reward money, she could live a peaceful life from then on.
Ye Jinqian made the Old Madam different dishes every day. In just two or three years, she became a highly esteemed senior maid at the Old Madam's side.
That year, Ye Jinqian asked for permission to leave the household as a free woman, and took along the sickly scholar who had been staying at the marquis's residence.
Theme: Work hard and believe there's another world waiting beyond this one
I just did a search and found that a divorce letter with a fake signature is invalid and needs to be reviewed by the family, stamped by the government, etc. I have been worried since I saw my ex-mother-in-law pretending to sign a divorce letter. Now that my ex-husband has refused to give up and has not remarried, will my ex-mother-in-law compromise and invalidate the divorce letter? Will this leave letter affect the heroine's remarriage?
I have a doubt. Since I am just working as a shopkeeper for Mrs. Liu to help revitalize the shop, and not the heroine's own business, I should not charge the heroine's rent. The previous chapter said that it is free for half a year, and in the future, I will collect rent every month. If the heroine's family has dividends, it still feels weird to have rent. Moreover, it is not cost-effective for a small restaurant to share dividends with others. The hostess's family has provided so much labor force. If there is a chance in the future, it is better to do it alone.
Finished spreading flowers! So beautiful blah blah blah
