The Benevolence and Righteousness Manual is a practice novel I finished in middle school. Looking at it now, I find it rather immature, but I still hope to preserve its original flavor. It's like an imprint of my soul from that period of my life. People change, so I want to preserve it exactly as it is.

Original blurb:
In the martial world, heroes and champions gather. I want to drink my fill and raise my cup high. In the jianghu, righteousness comes first. With a clear conscience, we are all brothers and sisters under heaven. Why chase after a hollow reputation and status? While others fight each other, I alone get drunk. Far from the endless grudges and disputes of the mundane world, I am not lonely, for the boundless sky keeps me company! Love means nothing, and hate means nothing: in this world, there is no right or wrong. Who cares if you are rich or poor, ugly or beautiful? All living things are merely dust passing before our eyes. Life means nothing, and death means nothing: I have transcended this painful cycle. Don't ask who I am. I roam the ends of the earth, laughing aloud as the jianghu resounds like thunder! Hahahahaha!
The blurb's lyrics are from Zhang Hanyuan's Laughing Through the Jianghu, used with the artist's permission.
Message: Chasing fame and fortune is beneath us. The benevolent do not contend, and so they are invincible.
