Wu Shi had been frail and sickly since childhood. He'd be gasping for breath after a few steps, and running a little would land him in the hospital for half a year.
Every ten days or so, he'd also feel a gnawing pain throughout his body. The only way to ease it was to gorge himself.
No matter how many hospitals he visited, none could diagnose his condition.
Wu Shi thought he had some extraordinarily rare, incurable disease.
On his twentieth birthday, he was pulled into a horror game.
After running until he could barely breathe, Wu Shi was cornered by a ghost. His body had reached its limit.
He snatched the ghost's scissors and held them to his neck, giving up on everything. "Go on, do it. Make it quick."
The ghost did.
The scissors passed through Wu Shi's body, and the ghost could only watch as Wu Shi sucked down most of its beloved giant scissors like a giant straw.
The ghost was horrified, devastated, shocked, bewildered, helpless, and ready to call the police.
Wu Shi licked his lips. His stomach wasn't growling anymore, and his body was full of energy. He felt like he could jump two meters into the air!
Wu Shi was shocked.
Wu Shi's eyes gleamed.
Wu Shi advanced step by step. "Don't run! Didn't you want to kill me? Come on, stab me to death with those scissors!"
The ghost screamed itself hoarse: "Don't come any closer!"
Just a little bonus scene, not responsible for anything:
Wu Shi thought he'd been born with a genetic defect. Later, he learned it was because he'd run away from home and gone hungry for twenty years.
The horror game thought it had long been flawless, with no bugs at all. It had no idea that someone was coming and going, treating it like an all-you-can-eat buffet.
The horror game was furious. "If you left back then, why did you come back now?"
Wu Shi was very dissatisfied. "So much time has passed. How come you still haven't started offering food delivery?"

[The gong is a beautiful, deranged man, and not a good person. He takes advantage of the shou quite a bit early on. Only after seeing how capable the shou is does he start acting fragile and pitiful, speaking in a sickly-sweet, self-pitying way and pretending to yield. It's all an act.]
[The shou is a sucker for good looks and likes everything and everyone that's attractive. The gong has a hard time fighting for his attention later on (probably).]
[The gong is deranged, and the shou isn't right in the head either. Neither can handle being provoked. Going crazy is the norm; it'd be weird if they didn't.]
