She’s Back to Haunt Us Again

(The story's scope grew too ambitious for my current writing ability, so this installment will be separated from the main storyline and serve as a prequel. The later parts will appear in The Supreme Ghost Tamer, with some changes to the setting and style. I'll write more another time.)

Maybe she'd done too many wicked things and karma finally caught up with her. The mischievous sword cultivator Ruan Qingning transmigrates into the body of a powerless orphan girl after her family is massacred by ghosts, and gets bound to a lousy Ghost Taming System.

Lousy System: Host, the ghost bride is right outside your door!

Ruan Qingning: !

Suddenly, she discovers that she can hear the evil ghosts' thoughts.

Outside, the evil ghost sneers: I'll hack you to pieces and strip the flesh from your bones!

But what it's thinking is: [She's terrifying! She's clearly dead, but this situation feels wrong! I'm scared out of my wits!]

Ghosts are afraid of dying too? Ruan Qingning immediately reveals her vicious true nature. After a round of threats and temptation, she gains herself an evil ghost.

Looking at the endless wasteland in the homestead space, the evil ghost is baffled: Weren't meals, lodging, and chicken drumsticks supposed to be included?

Ruan Qingning never tires of tricking ghosts into working the fields. Later, she travels far and wide, touching (tricking) all sorts of evil ghosts, and becomes a renowned legendary (wicked) ghost tamer across the Myriad Worlds!

In the final years of the Great Wei Dynasty, a calamity struck as Yinghuo appeared. Rulers and ministers were cast from their rightful places, and ghosts roamed the land.

A cultivator came from beyond the heavens, rose to prominence through the art of ghost taming, and cleaved through the fiercest evils in every direction, forging a boundary between life and death and restoring peace to the mortal world. After completing her task, she withdrew into the mountains with her beloved and shunned worldly affairs.

The evil ghosts: Withdrew into the mountains??? Shunned worldly affairs??? No, she's still wandering around everywhere. If she can't trick us, she just takes what she wants by force!

1. A comedic, scary ghost-taming story. The main plot follows adventures, mysteries, and ghost-hunting; the side plot is about managing a ghostly homestead.
