Once, she shattered the heavens with a single finger and cleaved ten thousand mountains with one sword, becoming the youngest God of War in the Celestial Realm. During the war between immortals and demons, Xie Yunyan invaded the Demon Realm alone and sliced off the Demon Lord's head with one strike. After the war ended, she suddenly disappeared. No one knew where she had gone. Meanwhile, a captive god had appeared in the Yanhua Hall of the Demon Realm. The god was covered in old and new wounds, blind and mute, utterly pitiful. The little demons and fiends received orders from the newly appointed Demon Lord to tend to the deaf-and-mute god with the utmost care, day and night. Not one of them dared to neglect their duty. Only Xie Yunyan herself knew that every night at midnight, a female demon slipped into Yanhua Hall. The demon was mercurial and ruthless. When in a good mood, the woman would gently bite Xie Yunyan's ear and breathe against it, admiring her cheeks, flushed red with embarrassment and anger. When in a bad mood, she would deliberately dress her in thin gauze and throw her into a cold pool on a winter night. Worse still, the woman seemed able to hear her thoughts. Xie Yunyan's thoughts: This woman is treacherous and cunning. She must be a female demon with a hideous face, fangs, and a tongue dragging on the ground! The female demon raised an eyebrow. "As it happens, I am the most beautiful woman in all the realms." Xie Yunyan's thoughts: Let me out! I'll kill you and save all living beings! The female demon scoffed. "And who will save you while you're busy saving everyone else?" Xie Yunyan's thoughts: I need to return to the Celestial Realm and report in. All the gods must be worried about me. The female demon snorted. "They'd be glad to see you dead. Think about it. You're a God of War, feared throughout the world, and your achievements overshadow your superiors. Do you think the Heavenly Emperor and the Crown Prince wouldn't be wary of you?" Xie Yunyan: I can't stand this. Get lost. The female demon: "..." Half a year later, Xie Yunyan had healed. She looked at the face of the woman who had just been intimate with her in bed and felt as if she had been struck by lightning. "Who are you?" "I'm Xie Yuan. I'm you." Xie Yunyan silently covered herself. Xie Yuan smiled. "Why are you covering up? I have everything you have." Later, the Demon Realm's supreme ruler invaded the Celestial Realm, gouged out the Crown Prince's golden core, took the Moon God's eyes, and ruined the Heavenly Emperor's voice, turning the Celestial Court upside down. The gods wept and knelt, begging the God of War Yunyan to save them. When they looked up, the God of War was reclining in the demon's arms, laughing. The Heavenly Emperor and the other immortals were dumbfounded. Later still, Xie Yuan told her, "You saved the world, but the world is the one thing that doesn't love you. I'm the one closest to you. I know every scar on your body." "The only one worthy of you is me. It's always been you yourself." The Demon Lord's perspective: Xie Yuan had never imagined that, five hundred years after uniting the Three Realms, she would get the chance to return to the past. She saw her former self: the foolish, ignorant God of War Yunyan, framed and humiliated by her fellow immortals for the sake of peace in the Celestial Realm. Her eyes had been gouged out and her core stolen, yet she still wanted to restore the immortal clan. Xie Yuan hated her past, helpless self. Furious that she had never stood up for herself, Xie Yuan cruelly mocked her, yet couldn't help feeling sympathy for her. She even used her Yin-aspected body to heal her wounds. But as she kept healing her, that compassion changed into something else. There are no side couples in the main story, but there will be some in the extras. Blurb screenshot from December 23.
