Love, and Then Some

That night, torrential rain poured down, and Bai Yeke was thrown out of the house.

She came from a wealthy family, in a way. Her family had gotten rich overnight. But her stepfather considered her sexual orientation "abnormal," so how could someone like her ever belong in a nouveau riche family of high standing?

A mansion, the outskirts, a drenched mess... like a female ghost.

Not one driver passing by in the dead of night dared stop for her.

A familiar-looking Panamera slowly pulled up beside her. The window rolled down, and a woman's cool voice asked, "Where are you going? I'll give you a ride."

If Bai Yeke hadn't recognized her client, she would have thought she was being kidnapped.

Everyone said that Yi Sheng, the stunningly beautiful new head of Liurun, was cold and abstinent. Countless wealthy families wanted to set their sons up with her, even if it meant marrying into her family or a loveless match, but every attempt ended in rejection.

Perhaps because the power struggles in her family had been so brutal, this young woman had single-handedly kicked out a crowd of grasping uncles and inherited the family business.

Now, this beautiful woman in her prime had become an ice queen.

What a pity.

But one day, someone saw her hurrying through the rain to buy hot cocoa. When asked, she replied impatiently, "It's for my wife."

She was in such a rush, as if she were afraid the cocoa would get cold or take too long...

Another rainy night. Bai Yeke curled up in Yi Sheng's bed and pouted, refusing to let it go. "Will you always love me like this? Love me more than anyone else? Love me more than I love you?"

Yi Sheng smiled and promised, "All right. My love for you will never be anything less than yours for me."
