I'm the Only One Dating Echizen

[Complete. Bonus side story unlocked at 70]

Wakabayashi Feining had lived two lifetimes and still didn't know how to date.

To get home, she could only half-heartedly complete the romance missions assigned to her by the Sealing Beast.

Regular messages, morning and evening greetings.

[Hello, I'm Wakabayashi Feining. I really like you. Would you be willing to go out with me?]

Day after day, no changes. Changing even a punctuation mark would count as effort on her part.

Naturally, the other person was just as cold and didn't reply to her messages for over a month.

Then one day, she got so absorbed in a game that she forgot to send her message.

Who knew the other person would be more anxious than she was?

[Why did you stop sending them?]

[Are you giving up already? Is this what you call liking me?]

[...]

[Could you send it one more time?]

[...I understand.]

[I accept. So we're boyfriend and girlfriend now, right?]

Feining: "?"

Sealing Beast: "?"

That night, after a long silence, Feining asked the Sealing Beast that had come with her, "So, who is this guy again?"

"Uh... I think he's a tennis prodigy. His name's Ryoma, I believe..."

Great. She'd been so half-hearted that she couldn't even remember who her boyfriend was.

The world of the manga was being overrun by ghosts. Before the great wizard broke down, they summoned the protagonists of different stories together in an attempt to save the world on the verge of collapse.

Feining was summoned, along with a yellow plushie that called itself a magical Sealing Beast, a school-age detective who claimed to be seventeen but was actually only as tall as an elementary schooler, and a white-haired, dead-eyed man who loved sweets and couldn't be bothered to do anything.

How should she put it?

Sometimes, her teammates were incredibly capable.

Other times, they were utterly useless and constantly held her back.

For example, when it came to their career paths and dispelling grudges, every teammate had their own way of doing things. Their careers flourished, and they were unstoppable.

But when it came to romance, they all lay flat faster than anyone.

Sealing Beast: I'm not human, so I don't date.

School-age detective: I already like someone, so I don't date.

White-haired, dead-eyed man: No particular reason. I just don't date.

Hey! Don't dump all the romance on her and Echizen!

1. OOC warning. My writing is limited, but I'll do my best to stay true to the characters. OOC is unavoidable due to my interpretation and the needs of the plot.

2. Slow burn. The first half focuses on the main plot and everyday life; the second half is entirely romantic slice-of-life.

3. The story goes up to the Kanto Tournament. Pairing is with Echizen, and it's love at first sight.

4. Updates at midnight. I aim for three chapters and hope for six. Updates outside the hour are typo fixes or revisions.

Theme: Fear neither time nor wind.
