Tang Yao remembers how Xia Zhifan's ears turned red whenever she flirted with her, and rubs her nose.

Tang Yao can't find a way to refuse, so she goes along. In a bad mood, she has a couple too many drinks and her roommate carries her back to their dorm.

The next day, Tang Yao runs into Xia Zhifan, her head pounding and her face pale. Xia Zhifan seems even more upset than last time. Her lips press into a straight line, and her dark eyes stare at Tang Yao for a long while before she asks quietly, "If you're feeling unwell, why isn't your partner here with you?"

When Xia Zhifan falls ill, she clutches Tang Yao's clothes in a delirious state and pleads in broken phrases, as if speaking in a dream: "Could you like me again?"

Tang Yao's heart skips a beat.

When the bookworm Su Linye gets to this part, she lets out an excited squeal, completely forgetting that the disposable sidekick shares her name and is the one who exposes the main character's identity.

After finishing the latest chapter, Su Linye leaves her usual comment begging the author for more, then happily turns off the lights and goes to sleep.

When she opens her eyes again, she's transmigrated into the book.

She flees to an empty classroom, fumbling with trembling hands to lock the door, and endures the ordeal in despair.

Lu Jiang, the main character who's pursued, climbs in through the window. She catches the scent of pheromones in the air and looks at Su Linye. "Are you in heat?"

Su Linye closes her eyes, hoping the main character will stay away so she won't trigger Su Linye's heat, but suddenly she senses an overpowering Alpha pheromone.

Her eyes fly open.

Lu Jiang: "Want a temporary mark?"

Later, Su Linye holds her aching neck and looks at Lu Jiang, the main character, licking her lips. She feels like crying.

What happened to the Omega pretending to be an Alpha?

Who in the world writes fanfiction for a no-romance novel?!

Later still,

Su Linye struggles out of bed, holding her back as she limps along and sighs.

What happened to the cold, aloof, no-romance main character?!
