Superiority

There's no sense of superiority without someone to compare yourself to.

For the first half of my life, I was the one being compared. For the second half... sorry, I don't know either.

But why do my friends, classmates, and family always act so superior around me? I don't get it.

Then one day, I found out that the boy I'd liked for a year liked another girl. Later, the boy I'd liked for a semester still liked her, too.

Forget it. I'll find someone else to like.

But guess what? That guy liked her, too.

Fine, I guess everyone in our class only has eyes for that girl.

Then one day, she came to me and said... she liked me.

Well, I wouldn't be against it. I could steal her away, then make all the boys in class regret it...

What am I thinking? Get a grip. She's the class belle.
