Reborn at the End of the Seventies

Lin Qiao was reborn, back in the late 1970s, just before the college entrance exam registration forms became available again.

Because of her family background, Lin Qiao had exhausted every resource and connection she had just to get a registration form. But in her previous life, she hadn't written her own name on this precious form. Instead, she'd written the name of her childhood sweetheart, whom she'd just gotten engaged to.

He got into college, just as he'd hoped, while she languished in the countryside for another two years before finally returning to the city. The day after she returned was supposed to be their wedding day. She waited, overjoyed to become a bride, but he never came. All she received was a cruel letter.

In it, he listed her many sins. The most prominent was that she was "calculating, using her kindness to force him into an engagement." If she hadn't pressured him, how could he have broken up with the girl he loved most? If he hadn't ended their relationship, the girl he loved would not have rushed into marriage in her grief, only to die in an unhappy marriage... He and Lin Qiao had both wronged the woman he loved, so they deserved to atone for the sin they'd committed together. As for deliberately standing Lin Qiao up on their wedding day, he said he'd only thought up such a vicious way to get revenge because he wanted to avenge the girl he'd once loved.

When Lin Qiao learned that she'd unknowingly been made the other woman, it was as if thunder had struck her. She finally understood: her childhood sweetheart didn't love her, but he was certain she would go through fire and water for him...

Given another chance, when Lin Qiao saw the precious college entrance exam registration form in front of her, she didn't hesitate. She picked up her pen and wrote her own name.
