[A proper gentlemanly top x A spirited young bottom]
[Serious blurb]
Above the heavens stands White Jade Capital, with twelve towers and five cities.
One sword is forged in each tower, and each city serves one person.
They say White Jade Capital is the judge of heaven and earth, administering justice in matters of injustice, impropriety, and unfairness, clearing away demonic karma and suppressing wicked influences.
It has twelve sword masters, who kill every evildoer.
It has sword-bearing attendants, who travel the world on behalf of the sword masters.
Thus, immortals dare not act recklessly, the rivers run clear, and the world enjoys peace.
Then, one day, White Jade Capital suddenly collapsed from the clouds.
From that day on, evil desires ran rampant through the cultivation world.
The Buddhists broke their vows, the immortal sects embraced hedonism, the medical pavilion abandoned its healing, and the Taoist temples spied on heaven.
The world is teeming with monsters and demons, and Duan Zi only wants to cut them all down with one stroke of his sword.
Unfortunately, he is a healer who cannot harbor murderous intent.
Fortunately, there is a sword spirit in his sword.
It cuts down every obstacle before him and every sin behind him, bringing peace to the world.
[Irreverent blurb]
A reclusive young uncle has arrived at the Yin-Yang Temple of Nocturnal Heaven. He is determined to become a healer who saves all people.
A healer, by definition, can do nothing but treat illnesses. Even when people bully him, he has to silently repeat, "Don't get angry. Anger harms your cultivation." He is the ultimate saintly pushover.
One day, the young uncle acquires a sword that can cry. Inside the sword lives a sword spirit with an extremely violent temperament.
The sword spirit tells him, "You treat the people you can. I'll treat the ones you can't."
So when Duan Zi discovers that the cultivation world, which seems so pure and noble, has rotted to the core, he silently repeats, "Don't get angry. Anger harms your cultivation," then quietly draws his sword.
#Studying medicine can't save the world#
#Healers can't kill people. No matter, the sword spirit will handle it#
*
Duan Zi doesn't know why Mu Ziling became a sword spirit.
Just as Mu Ziling doesn't know that Duan Zi wielded a sword for hundreds of years before he began practicing medicine.
But that doesn't stop Duan Zi from being endlessly careful and patient, all so he can coax the sword spirit curled up inside the sword to appear for a moment and see the world once more.
Nor does it stop Mu Ziling from being willing to burn in raging flames and die a second time, if that's what it takes to keep Duan Zi's integrity unbroken and his life safe.
*In short, this is a story about the top and bottom traveling together to reform the cultivation world, and falling in love along the way.
*I wanted to write about two good people who have both been caught in the rain holding umbrellas for each other, healing each other and becoming each other's strength.
[Reading Guide]
*Top-focused narration. Duan Zi is the top and Mu Ziling is the bottom. The pairing is a heavenly gentleman x a sincere soul of the mortal world.
*Both are beautiful, powerful, and tragic, with a strong mutual attraction. The story includes both the top's and bottom's points of view.
*As is traditional for me, there is a large cast, and the supporting characters have especially substantial roles. The early story includes a subtle element opposing forced romance, with a villain having unrequited feelings for a protagonist. Read with care if that's a trigger.
*The cultivation system is extremely dependent on belief and isn't very important, so please don't look too closely at it, qwq.
Theme: One must break before one can build. The righteous path lives in people's hearts.
