Bai Shu is a renowned neurosurgeon.
He's patient, gentle, and courteous with his patients. Combined with his outstanding medical skills and peerless good looks, it's no wonder he's been voted the most popular surgeon for several years in a row.
But no one knows he was born with emotional detachment disorder.
He lacks empathy, is bad at socializing, and can't put himself in others' shoes. Even in the operating room, he's imagined countless times what it would be like to slice open a patient's body with his scalpel and watch the blood spray. He often wonders what a perfect picture that would make.
He knows these are pathological symptoms of emotional detachment disorder.
In common terms, he's a sociopath.
Fortunately, he's always been good at hiding it. Every year, he passes the hospital's physical and psychological evaluations with flying colors, seeming like the most ordinary, normal person.
Then disaster strikes, and Bai Shu is dragged into a horror game.
[Welcome to The Realm of Unchecked Chaos.]
The System's coarse voice, crackling with static, sounds in Bai Shu's mind: [Here, you don't have to follow the rules. Staying alive is the only rule.]
Bai Shu smiles slowly.
How interesting. Finally, there's a place where he can unleash every bit of evil inside him without restraint.
He can be himself and stop being afraid of the rules.
He's free.

In the game world, everyone knows that following the rules is the key to survival.
Even though everyone hears the System's instructions before entering the game world, countless bloody lessons from those who came before have taught them not to take risks.
Until Bai Shu appears.
Werewolf Town.
The System issues a rule: [Protect the NPCs and kill the werewolf ghosts.]
The players go to great lengths to protect the NPCs, but Bai Shu slips into the village without hesitation and gently slices the NPC leader's throat with his gleaming scalpel.
Desolate Island.
The travelers are trapped on an island and about to become a meal for the monsters there.
The System issues a rule: [Protect the travelers and escort them off the island.]
But just before the players are about to complete their mission, Bai Shu sets the whole island ablaze, reducing it to ashes.
Even though the players can always escape the game instances safely by following Bai Shu, and receive even better rewards, rumors still spread among them: Bai Shu's bizarre behavior is meant to curry favor with the game's final boss, an indescribable being the players call the Evil God, and the ultimate target they have to kill.
Until one day, in the highest-level instance, the players see the Evil God in human form kneeling before Bai Shu and placing a reverent kiss on the back of his hand.

Bai Shu lowers his eyes, gazing indifferently at the human figure kneeling before him and pleading for his love. "Since the day I was born, people have called me a monster without feelings."
The true "monster" raises its head, its crimson eyes curving as it smiles at Bai Shu. "I came from the wilderness. I have been rejected by countless people, and I have never begged humanity for its pity. But for you, I would offer up everything."
