My Husband Cares for Me Until I Become the Insect Queen

In the year 259467 of the Star Calendar, a massive meteor struck the hive, changing the magnetic field of its home planet. Countless female bugs out on missions could no longer sense the location of the main nest and were unable to return, stranded beyond the star regions.

Fengweihua Yue, a butterfly spirit, had only just cultivated successfully when a storm swept her onto a planet. It tore her delicate wings, leaving them damaged and incomplete, and she could no longer fly. She struggled to find food, only to discover that she couldn't eat much of the food found across the stars.

Alone, she finally came across a group of female bugs, but her teammates treated her with contempt.

"She flies so slowly. She's such a burden. We might as well leave her in this desert."

"Food is scarce already, and she's picky. She can't even fight the alien beasts. She's a total waste of food, completely useless."

"Her wings look awful. So ugly."

Their words pierced her. With tears in her eyes, she flapped her damaged wings and struggled to keep up with the group.

Just as she was at her most helpless, a female bug walked over and offered her an energy core. "Here, eat this!"

She took it, her heart overflowing with gratitude.

She couldn't fly, so Qingya Lingyin bent down. "I'll carry you."

She climbed onto her back and felt her warmth. In that moment, she felt a love that would last a lifetime.

Because of the magnetic field changes, the female bugs couldn't return to the main nest to have the radiation-induced aggression purged from their bodies. Their lifespans would grow shorter and shorter, until they eventually died.

Nursed and cared for by Qingya Lingyin, her damaged wings gradually healed. She flapped them, stirring the air and revealing a route through the stars.

The female bugs who had once looked down on her gathered around. "Please, take us back to the main nest, great one!"

Upon her return to the main nest, the throng of bugs presented her with a male bug. "Your Majesty, this is the mate we've chosen especially for you."

She put an arm around Qingya Lingyin. "This is my queen. Does anyone object?"

She thought their feelings were mutual, but Qingya Lingyin pulled away from her embrace.
