For the first time, I’m attempting an unusual and challenging dual-timeline narrative. It’s a bold experiment in a new area, and I hope to write a story where feelings resonate across two timelines as they develop and seep into one another. This is a challenge I absolutely want to see through. It isn’t mainstream fanfiction, and it may be quite different from the stories you usually read here. Please set your expectations accordingly. ★There’s no need to go out of your way to recommend this story. I’ll explain why after it’s finished. I truly appreciate the kind thought! Any questions you have while reading will be answered in the ending, and there’s a twist. If you don’t have the patience to keep reading, please cut your losses and drop the story. Readers who don’t mind mild spoilers can also take a look at Chapter 45, which discusses some of the ideas behind the story. Synopsis: At nineteen, Tsukimi Tanikawa comes to Tokyo Jujutsu High to learn how to control her awakened time technique from Gojo Satoru, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, who is twenty. By a twist of fate, she becomes the newly minted teacher Gojo Satoru’s first “student.” On Halloween in 2018, Tsukimi Tanikawa uses her technique to stop Gojo-sensei from being sealed. Its effect appears to be “rewinding.” But after rewinding the timeline three times, her teacher is still sealed, and the Shibuya disaster unfolds as it always did. After she activates her technique for the final time, Tsukimi returns to the past, only to be killed unexpectedly. Before her soul disappears, she finally understands the true reason she can’t stop the “apocalypse” from coming. She then forms a binding vow and makes a pact with a spirit... The world punishes every fool who tries to stop time from moving forward, cursing any sorcerer who rewinds time. “But my clan kept this from me. They never told me my technique was a curse that traps me in an eternal loop... Gojo-sensei...” ★A story about a couple fighting the laws of the world and using those very laws to find happiness. The two timelines run in parallel and intertwine. ★The central theme: “Love is a force that can cross dimensions. Though we do not yet understand it, we should believe that it is visible, and extraordinarily powerful.” From my favorite movie, Interstellar. A few things to keep in mind: 1. The timeline spans from Gojo’s student days at Jujutsu High to his time as a teacher. It also expands on the “spirits” mentioned in the original. 2. It leans toward romantic mystery. Questions that come up as you read won’t be answered until the very end. The timeline setup will be explained in detail, as will the process of Gojo Satoru and the heroine falling in love. 3. It isn’t a conventional teacher-student romance, since they’re the same age. They first met as children. It’s a long happy ending, though there will be angst early on. Don’t let it scare you: this is a ★things-get-worse-before-they-get-better★ and ★everything-works-out-in-the-end★ kind of story. 4. In my personal interpretation, an adult Gojo Satoru burdened with heavy responsibilities wouldn’t fall in love with someone easily. My Gojo-sensei is therefore quite guarded and hard to win over. The romance takes its time to develop, but it will definitely have a romantic happy ending! If that bothers you, this may not be for you. ★This isn’t a wish-fulfillment story. Readers who love intense melodrama, beware. I hope that after reading, you’ll truly believe parallel worlds exist, and that Gojo Satoru will find the happiness he deserves in every one of them. ★I’m writing this for readers who enjoy it, and it’s free.
