Only after she had no choice but to get together with Lu Yancheng did Yao Xingyin learn just how greedy he was.
He had the face of a character from a mobile game, and wore an expressionless look all day, his gaze as cold as ice.
But every night, he would kiss her ear and ask, "Does it feel good?"
If she pressed her lips together and said nothing, he would only become more relentless, until she nodded with tears in her eyes.
If she said, "It feels good," he would grab her by the waist, turn her over, and lift her up in his arms. "Now it's your turn to make me feel good."
If she said, "It doesn't feel good," he would open the drawer beside the bed...
Even though three whole years have passed, Yao Xingyin still can't help trembling all over when she remembers the odds and ends in that drawer.
"Mom..." A childish voice interrupts her memories. Yao Xingyin stops peeling the apple.
The little boy playing with toy cars on the floor timidly points toward the doorway.
Yao Xingyin looks up. Beyond the open door, the brilliant midsummer sunlight pours in,
and a man stands bolt upright in the verdant entrance, backlit.
She can't make out his face, but from his tall, straight figure, she recognizes him at a glance:
Lu Yancheng. He actually found her here!
Yao Xingyin's heart jolts, and the half-peeled apple slips from her hand and falls to the floor.

"Yao Xingyin, I told you that you can't escape me."
The man's voice carries no emotion, but the eyes fixed on her roil with a terrifying darkness.
Yao Xingyin unconsciously clenches her hands, her nails digging deep into her palms, but she still can't stop her voice from trembling. "I... I already have a family..."
"Is that so?" The man curls his lips. He seems to be smiling, but his gaze is sharp as a knife. "I don't mind."
