Su Jiang once thought she was incredibly lucky.
Though her mother died early, her father treasured her like the apple of his eye. She was exceptionally gifted, breaking through to the Golden Core realm at a young age, and her swordsmanship astonished everyone.
But after a scheme brought her and Princess Yanling together in an illicit affair, the emperor personally decreed that they marry.
At the time, she was blind to the truth and foolishly thought Princess Yanling stood in the way of her career. She treated the princess coldly and even sent her back to her fief, making her the laughingstock of the realm.
Only after her death did she learn that her father had personally orchestrated her demise, cutting out her Golden Core to pave the way for her older brother.
The day she died, her entire household celebrated. The princess, whom she had never touched, was the only one dressed in mourning white. She set the Su residence ablaze. Amid the flames, Princess Yanling, whose dancing had made her famous in the capital, danced gracefully to bid her farewell and was buried with her.
When she opened her eyes, she had returned to the year she sent Princess Yanling back to her fief. The princess wept and begged her to let her stay.
At that time, Princess Yanling's eyes shone like flames, her lips were red as vermilion, and she wore a pomegranate-red silk dress. Even in tears, her beauty was beyond compare.
Lowering her eyes, Su Jiang took out a handkerchief and wiped away the princess's tears. "All right," she replied.

After being reborn, Su Jiang silently swore that in this life she would do everything in her power, using the sword in her hand to protect Princess Yanling and lay down her life in service to her. But the longer she kept the princess by her side, the more she realized... she seemed to be developing forbidden feelings for her.
What she didn't know was that Princess Yanling's famous dance, the Yan Dance, had been named after her, and the princess had worked tirelessly to bring about their marriage decree.
At a spring banquet one year, Princess Yanling looked at Su Jiang, her slender fingers holding a flower branch over her shadowed gaze.
"Since you've become mine, you can't leave me anymore, okay?"
