Peach Blossoms and Plum Flowers

Yuan Xuan's elder brother has held the post of chancellor for five years, serving the crumbling Yan Kingdom with all his might. Now, emaciated and weak, he lies on his sickbed.

Yuan Xuan moves into the chancellor's residence to care for his brother in his final days.

Every night, after leaving his brother's quarters, he sees a stunningly beautiful woman enter to visit him.

Then one day, Yuan Xuan happens to come face to face with her.

In that instant, he feels his blood boil and run backward.

The woman is Jiang Danyan, daughter of Grand Tutor Jiang, who was his childhood sweetheart.

Three years ago, the emperor executed Grand Tutor Jiang's entire family. Yuan Xuan was powerless to save her life, and in the nights and days after her death, he could only grieve before her memorial tablet.

Who would have thought she wasn't dead at all, and that his brother, who seemed so untouched by worldly desires, had kept her hidden away in a golden cage?

He holds back his fury, which threatens to drive him mad, again and again. He'll wait until he's seen his brother off, then deal with her "properly."

The imperial physician declares Yuan Lincheng's illness terminal. But with his younger brother and his betrothed caring for him devotedly, his pain gradually eases, and he unexpectedly begins to recover.
