Gest – the city of gems
Twenty years ago, this land was still a wasteland, until someone discovered a vein of gemstones, and countless people from all over the world poured here.
The class divisions in Gast are serious. The slums, mining areas, and Jewel Heart (rich areas) are only a few miles apart. Deception, ignorance, and poverty can be seen everywhere in the slums.
"It's very cold tonight. Do you have nowhere to go?" Jiang Ying said.
She has an Asian face with dark eyes and yellow skin, and is only twelve years old.
The boy looked at her and squatted motionless beside the small slope.
He is a Chinese boy, only ten years old.
"It's getting dark and the wind is very strong. You can go to my house and take a nap, but you are not allowed to let my mother know."
Her eyes were calm and she extended an olive branch to him.
She, an orphan girl who grew up in a slum, works in the mines every day to support her seriously ill mother.
He was once the only son of a jeweler. His family was ruined overnight and he fell from the clouds into the mire.
When the two met, one had hands full of mud and the other was full of pride.
She looked down on his innocence, and he couldn't understand her stubbornness.
Until that winter evening of that year, when he had nowhere to go and no place to stay, she took him back to his small, dilapidated home in the slums.
Jiang Ying regarded him as a younger brother. From then on, she had someone to talk to about her life and someone to depend on for her life.
"Alu, what are you going to do when we grow up?" She asked.
"Find a place, open a small shop, and sell some items." He said.
"Then what?"
"Then... With you."
If tomorrow is the end, at least I still have you.

Short plot:
There was a heavy rain and the water in the depths of the mine rose rapidly.
"Why are you here! You know there is danger!"
He wiped the rain off his face with anxiety in his voice.
"I'm afraid something will happen to you." Her voice was calm, but her trembling hands betrayed her fear.
Her father died when the mine collapsed.
He looked around and suddenly grabbed a rusty shovel, "We can't just sit there and wait for death. I'll dig a road."
"Are you crazy? This pit will collapse at any time!" She pulled him, her eyes full of disbelief.
"That's better than waiting to die." He shook off her hand and started digging desperately.
The rain mixed with the mud, blurring the vision.
She stood there, looking at his stubborn back, and suddenly gritted her teeth, grabbed another shovel, and said, "Let me help you."
The two dug side by side, no one said a word, only the sound of the collision of shovels and rocks echoed in the pit.
"Why are you working so hard?" She couldn't help but ask.
"Because I don't want to die here, and I don't want you to die here." He said without looking back.
Her eyes suddenly turned red, "You are such a fool."
"What about you? You came to me even though you knew it was dangerous." He stopped and turned to look at her.
"Because... Except you, I can trust no one."
The rain gradually subsided, and the shouts of the rescue team could be heard in the distance.
He smiled and stretched out his hand, "Let's go home."
She took his hand and nodded.

In a world full of greed and misery, they finally find their gem.
The real gems are actually hidden in each other's eyes.
