Bei Nai Zaoming first met Amuro Tooru when the five members of their police academy group were playing baseball. Thirteen-year-old Bei Nai crossed paths with twenty-two-year-old Amuro Tooru again, and Amuro fell in love with the boy at first sight. Their next meeting took place after Bei Nai Zaoming had lost his memory. Little by little, Amuro was drawn to the amnesiac twenty-year-old who loved desserts. Later, he learned that Bei Nai was the youngest son of the Bei Nai Consortium, and the boy he had met at the police academy seven years earlier. An incident finally made him certain of his feelings.
Bei Nai Zaoming first met Shinichi Kudo, Ran Mouri, Masumi Sera, and the others on a beach ten years ago. They met again ten years later.
After Shinichi Kudo became a child, Bei Nai Zaoming learned what had happened and helped keep it secret, as well as helping him in many other ways. Shinichi Kudo, in turn, did his best to protect his amnesiac older brother.
