Don’t Startle Him Again

Blurb:

Xiao Wang's mother gave him his name, which means “a wasted trip through life.”

He grew up at the mercy of other people, bullied and humiliated, seeing nothing but contempt wherever he went. Sometimes he wondered if he really was destined to be controlled by others all his life. What was the point of being alive?

Song Wenjing said, “No! The ‘Wang’ in Xiao Wang should mean ‘a life not lived in vain.’ So you have to live well, so you can rub it in all their faces someday!”

Xiao Wang never forgot what Song Wenjing had said. Even when life was hard, he never thought of giving up.

But later, they lost touch.

Many years later, Song Wenjing saw Xiao Wang again at a jewelry auction.

The young man wore a sharp suit and carried himself with distinction, but his eyes were cold as he looked across the crowd at her.

Song Wenjing couldn't hold herself together. She thought she must be crazy to show up in front of him again.

Reader's guide:

1. The story mainly takes place in the present, with flashbacks. Neither lead is perfect, and both have their flaws.

2. The male lead has a bad leg and will not recover. See the story for details.

3. A contemporary setting, but not the realistic style I usually write. Some characters and plot points are rather extreme.

4. One-on-one romance, both are virgins, happy ending.

5. I'll add more if I think of anything. Please add it to your favorites!
