The Country-Bumpkin Male Insect Has Lots of Tentacles

I'm a country bumpkin. I fell asleep in the field while harvesting rice, and when I woke up, I'd been disqualified from being human.

Well, if I'm not human anymore, so be it. I'm pretty good at, uh, that sort of thing, and I'm happy to take life as it comes.

But there are still plenty of things I'm not used to now that I'm not human. Like that mental power thing. It doesn't listen to me!

Hey, little tentacle, why are you climbing up that soldier's leg? Come back here, come back!

The handsome military female, who was on leave, suddenly felt a tickle on his calf. Then he saw a little male insect averting his eyes, his ears turning pink as peach blossoms.

Military female: I get it. He must have a crush on me...

The insect race has great benefits. Once you become a male, the Male Insect Protection Association looks after you, and when you come of age, you can marry a whole houseful of wives.

The country bumpkin firmly refuses. I can support myself!

But what can I do? I'm strong and can cook, but I don't have any other talents!

Just in time, a starship is hiring a cook. You're the one!

The military female heads to the mess hall and finds the usually quiet place packed to the rafters.

Then he spots the little male insect behind the counter, dishing out food at a furious pace.

Military female: He chased me all the way onto a starship. This puts me in a difficult position!

The country bumpkin picks his nose and rolls his eyes. Buddy, you're imagining things.

Everyone aboard the starship thinks Zhuo La is just a cute little male insect who's harmless and a great cook. That is, until one day on a brutal battlefield.

A creature as vast as a planet, countless tentacles hidden in the dark reaches of space, raising towering waves...

The military females: So this is what you really are, you adorable little thing?

The military male: What do I do? I love him even more...

Buy yourself a silly, resilient, grass-like, adorably clueless country-bumpkin gong, dear reader!

Please note: The country bumpkin's personality and manner of speaking are meant to emphasize his individuality, not to express discrimination or anything of the sort. The author's parents both grew up in the countryside. How could the author look down on their hometown?
