Lin Daiyu's Sister Returns from Overseas [Dream of the Red Chamber]

"Have you heard? Miss Lin's illegitimate uncle and eldest sister have returned from overseas!"

"Well, that's a rare thing to see."

"Isn't it just? I heard the Lin family sent gifts, but our household sent only a few things in return. Then they sent an invitation hoping to see Miss Lin, but she turned them down."

"Was that Miss Lin's idea?"

"No. They say Miss Lin cried several times over it, but she didn't dare say anything. Poor thing."

"Oh my, this is serious! The eldest Miss Lin is coming here with a whip!"

"What's there to fear? We're a duke's household!"

"Miss Lin's uncle has been made Marquis of Zhenhai, and the eldest Miss Lin has been made a princess!"

"Oh no, the eldest Miss Lin really did snatch Miss Lin away! She took her away!"
