After He Died

Lu Chen was a substitute, and he'd always known it. But he'd stayed by Shen Jiayuan's side for ten years, taking care of him in every possible way. In their most tender moments, Shen Jiayuan had even joked that maybe they should get married.

Lu Chen had thought that surely some real affection had grown between them. He never expected that when disaster struck, Shen Jiayuan would choose without hesitation to save his first love.

So Lu Chen died that day.

He became a spirit and followed Shen Jiayuan around.

Then he watched helplessly as Shen Jiayuan went from acting indifferent and indulging in pleasure to growing more and more unhinged.
