Jiang Linlang and Xie Han were a miserable couple. In ten years of marriage, they had never spent a single peaceful day together.
Jiang Linlang thought Xie Han was crude and had no sense of romance. He spent his days away fighting in wars, leaving her no better off than a widow.
Xie Han, meanwhile, thought Jiang Linlang was spoiled and domineering, with an absurdly high opinion of herself. She was a delicate princess who threatened to die at the drop of a hat.
They couldn't stand the sight of each other.
After one argument, Jiang Linlang packed her things and headed to her parents' home. On the way, a landslide sent her back fifteen years.
She was still unmarried and in the bloom of her youth. Most importantly, she hadn't married that bastard Xie Han yet!
Jiang Linlang threw her head back and laughed. The first thing she did was go to Xie Han's hometown to find him.
He hadn't made his fortune yet. He was just a slight young man, working himself to the bone to support his younger siblings. His eyes held an untamed wildness, like a wolf cub begging for a beating.
Jiang Linlang looked at him for a moment, then tossed him a silver ingot with a sweet smile.
"You're Xie Han, right? Here's ten taels of silver. From now on, you're mine."

Xie Han was born poor. At thirteen, he went to war in place of his cousin, his uncle's son, just to get something to eat.
After more than a decade of risking his life, he earned great military honors and returned home in glory. The emperor even arranged his marriage, giving him the beloved youngest daughter of the Duke's mansion.
Everyone said he was lucky to have won Jiang Linlang, the beauty who outshone all others in the capital.
Xie Han thought so too, though his wife was always complaining that he was tongue-tied and clumsy, that he failed to please her, and that he was away from home all year. They argued constantly.
In their tenth year of marriage, Xie Han prepared to lead the troops into battle one last time. Once it was over, he would be able to stay home and keep her company.
But before he could share the good news, the couple was parted by death.
After drifting through decades in a daze, Xie Han opened his eyes again and found himself back at fifteen.
A pair of socks landed in his face, followed by Jiang Linlang's young, furious expression.
"You can't even wash a pair of socks properly. What good are you to me? If you don't get them clean next time, you don't eat!"
After scolding Xie Han, Jiang Linlang saw that he hadn't said a word and was about to march over and twist his ear.
But the boy's eyes no longer held the hurt of being scolded. His gaze had grown calm and distant, reminding her very much of someone she used to know.
Jiang Linlang felt awkward for a moment. "Huh? Haha... You came back too?"
Can you believe it? Just as she was having a grand old time treating her ex-husband like a dog, he came back too!
