The Final Showdown with Professor Moriarty

Doreen Flower is a beautiful but fiercely aloof woman, a decisive and forceful detective inspector. People say, "Don't even dream of getting close to her because of her looks. She could snap your arm like a twig." One day, she was invited to investigate a brutal case and met an exceptionally young and handsome mathematics professor. But on their first day, a misunderstanding led Flower to accidentally break his arm. Feeling sorry, she went out of her way to take care of the young professor. Her colleagues said it was a miracle: the ice queen had thawed. But Flower wasn't interested in him at all. People could go on about how brilliant he was, how he'd published a paper at twenty-one that had taken Europe by storm, how he'd become a professor of mathematics at such a young age. With the case giving Flower a headache, his good looks and brilliance had nothing to do with her! Until one day, Flower awoke on an autopsy table, with the professor's face staring down at her. She pieced all the clues together, and it seemed that he was connected to all the brutal murders. She had barely escaped with her life and was determined to bring the professor to justice, but still had no direct evidence linking Moriarty to the crimes. Flower was furious. She wouldn't rest until she caught Moriarty. When Moriarty went to Birmingham, she followed him to Birmingham. When he went to London, she followed him to London. Colleague: "Oh, Doreen, you've fallen head over heels. You're acting like a lunatic in love." Flower: "Ha." At last, the professor was handcuffed by Flower. For the record, the two of them had been kissing just a moment before. Colleague: "Give us a break, Doreen. Don't make us part of your kink." Flower: "? No, he's actually a criminal!" Colleague: "You two are still doing this role-play thing?" Moriarty: "Yes, she loves it." He smiled. Moriarty hooked an arm around Flower's neck and kissed her cheek. Flower: "Wait! He's really a criminal, and stop kissing me!" The setting has been changed to the twenty-first century, which should make it easier for me to write. Since Moriarty has few appearances in the original, everything else about him here is my own invention and has no connection to his portrayal in any film or TV adaptation. [Next planned work of British and American fan fiction: The Spider and Peter's Paradox] Theme: Dare to pierce the layers of fog and press on in pursuit of the truth.
