The Little Thing Called Love at First Sight

Tang's mother has been terribly worried lately.

Her daughter graduated several years ago and chose to freelance. She stays home drawing comics every day and has practically no social life. At this rate, she'll never find a partner on her own.

Luckily, she inherited her parents' good looks. Tang's mother therefore decided to handpick a fine son-in-law for her.

After looking into the matter, she settled on the son of the Zhou family next door.

He had just returned from overseas. According to rumor, he was a former Wall Street trader, a financial genius, and now a visiting professor at A University. He was handsome, had a stable job, and could cook.

Tang's mother made all the arrangements. On a sunny afternoon, she dressed her daughter up and brought her to the window, carefully adjusting the curtains and lighting. Then she lured Zhou Sui inside under the pretext of helping him carry some things after a chance encounter.

It was the first time Zhou Sui had seen Tang Shushu. She was wearing a white dress and drawing at the table by the windowsill.

A breeze blew in through the window, lifting a strand of her hair. Tang Shushu tucked it behind her ear and looked up. In that serene moment, Zhou Sui fell in love at first sight.

Later, Zhou Sui learned the truth.

Watching his wife get up and walk straight over to him, kiss him, then obediently wait for him to feed her, Zhou Sui resigned himself to tying on an apron.

Even if everything else had been fake, his feelings were real.

Bonus Scene:

One day, Tang Shushu was short on inspiration. In her slippers, she pattered over to Zhou Sui and stared at him from across the table, chin in her hands.

Zhou Sui looked up knowingly. "What character am I this time?"

Tang Shushu: "A cute lizard."

Zhou Sui had expected praise along the lines of "handsome corporate hotshot." Instead, he said, "You think I look like a lizard?"

Tang Shushu shook her head. "The important part is that it's cute! I know what a lizard looks like, but I haven't figured out the cute part yet."

A few days later, Zhou Sui saw the character she'd drawn: a lizard in an apron, neat and meticulous, with every button fastened right up to the top... Mr. Lizard.

Zhou Sui: "..."
