Why Hasn't She Confessed to Me Yet?

Lin Zhiyao first heard of Shen Xu at a Mid-Autumn Festival dinner for international students staying abroad.

Shen Xu had come with a friend. The friend introduced him enthusiastically: "Listen, all the Chinese chefs in the Greater Toronto Area together aren't half as good at cooking as Zhiyao. Don't believe me? Here, try some."

Shen Xu didn't believe him, of course. He casually tried a bite, and the plate in front of him was soon empty...

His friend beamed and pointed Lin Zhiyao out to Shen Xu. "Look, that's Zhiyao."

Lin Zhiyao was cutting fruit in the communal kitchen. When she heard her name and turned around, her eyes met Shen Xu's, and she nearly cut her finger.

Everyone thought Lin Zhiyao liked Shen Xu, and Shen Xu thought so too.

She cooked for him, brought him medicine, fussed over him, and seemed deeply devoted.

Shen Xu thought dating was a hassle, but Lin Zhiyao was so persistent that he had to give in. He was flipping through his calendar to find an auspicious day to agree to be her boyfriend when he heard that Lin Zhiyao had started dating someone.

Shen Xu: ?

Shen Xu lost it. He cornered Lin Zhiyao when she came over to look after him again, his gaze icy. "What do you mean by this? You have a boyfriend, and you're still chasing me?"

Lin Zhiyao's eyes widened. "What do you mean, chasing you? Don't make things up!"

The only reason she'd go to such lengths for him was because he had once saved her life.

A few years ago, when Lin Zhiyao was at her lowest and most helpless, Shen Xu, a complete stranger, had reached out to her, pulled her from the depths, and saved her life. Otherwise, with Shen Xu's spoiled young master attitude, she would have blocked him three hundred times by now.

Besides, when she got a boyfriend, naturally he would be the one to cook for her, bring her medicine, and take care of her. Why would she go and find herself a demanding ancestor?

Shen Xu: ?
