Cen Er had been gone to the bathroom for a long time, so her friend went to find her.
As she passed the staircase around the corner, she saw her own brother, Jin Shijue, holding Cen Er in his arms and kissing her. Deep in the moment, he pulled off his silver-rimmed glasses, then kissed her again.
Even someone so noble and aloof could bow before another.
She turned away, glanced at the messages she'd sent her brother to let him in on the secret, shook her head, and returned to the reunion.
Behind her, Cen Er's voice came in fits and starts. "I'm going home."
Jin Shijue's voice was low. "Don't move. Let me kiss you a little longer."
