The Saintess's Dragon-Slaying Paradox [Western Fantasy]

Saintess Losif has been reborn again. This is the fifth time the ice dragon has killed her, each time in a different way. The dragon's breath destroyed her home, and no one in her clan survived except her. Losif tried everything to slay the dragon, but each attempt ended in a gruesome death. The ice dragon awakened ahead of schedule. As a healer, Losif resolutely joined the imperial army's expedition, ready to die and finally be free. Instead, she was abducted to an underground palace filled with gold. "I won't kill you." "But I will make you watch all this, powerless to do anything." The evil dragon's mighty breath nearly wiped out the entire group. She became the scapegoat, despised by everyone and exiled by the empire. Having lost everything, Losif walked alone across the snowy plains. At last, she understood: She needed a different way to slay the dragon. She should do it in a gentler, more loving way, tenderly... Drive him mad. ** The night of the blood moon was the day Losif was to marry the empire's eldest prince. That same night, on the empire's border, an ancient field of magic surged and coiled like a storm. Deep in the mountains, a dragon let out one agonized roar after another. The evil dragon, his body filled with violent dragon blood and a spear in hand, appeared at the castle like a demon. He strode into the throng of wedding guests and smiled at her from afar, wild and arrogant. "Remember to slay a dragon after the wedding." "I saved the last one for you." Coming soon: After Becoming the Demon King's Bride, His Shadow Went Mad On the first day Yilanna became a princess of a fallen kingdom, she was sacrificed to the Demon King, who would always love her and spoil her beyond measure. The Demon King brought her to his endlessly luxurious bedchamber and cared for her as if she were a fragile rose. In her first month as Queen of the Demon Realm, Yilanna happened upon the evil spirit who, by the Demon King's command, had always guarded and watched her from the shadows. The Demon King was busy with the war and had rarely come to see her lately. Shut away in that endlessly luxurious bedchamber with nothing to do, Yilanna couldn't resist teasing the taciturn, pale shadow spirit into appearing, just to amuse herself as if playing with a dog. But a dog is a dog, and a person is a person. A person doesn't know what kind of dog it is: whether it's devoted or foolish, infatuated or mad. A person doesn't know what kind of teeth or tongue a dog has, either. Yilanna only knew that it hurt whenever he bit her. But if she made the dog let go, she would bleed even more and hurt even worse. She had failed the Demon King, and she had failed her dog. She was neither a worthy queen nor a worthy owner. The seasons in the Demon Realm kept turning, and the princess's heart had long since become a canine tooth. She could no longer even wander. The Demon Realm's sky screen was eternally bloodred. Standing on the palace terrace, the hot wind from the lava made her remember, as if in a haze, the wind along the shore on the day her kingdom fell... Last night, Yilanna had received a whole night of the Demon King's affection, the first in a long time, and heard her dog's promise of love, too. Today, she was happy. But she didn't want to be happy. Then let her end all these mistakes, things that should never have happened, in another way. Theme: Hold fast to your ideals, and you will see them through
