The Course of a Secret Crush

When Lin Ziyu was a girl, she once liked a boy.

She kept his photos and studied his zodiac sign. She went out of her way to listen to the songs he liked, walked the same roads he had walked over and over, and tried to learn about the things he was interested in. She just never told him.

Until one day, someone found out her secret and sneered at her. “Lin Ziyu, stop dreaming!”

“Why don’t you go back to your sewing machine?”

He was born to shine, adored by everyone. He would never look your way.

In the summer of 2012, after the college entrance exams, Lin Ziyu finally worked up the courage to approach Gu Mingxi and hurriedly place something in his hand.

“May you shine forever and have a bright future.”

At the time, he was surrounded by classmates saying goodbye to him, so caught up in the crowd that he didn’t even have time for a fleeting glance. All that remained in his hand was an unusual garment:

A men’s hanfu, in a deep blue-gray, embroidered with cloud patterns and stitched with exquisite care. Every stitch showed how much thought its maker had put into it.

The year Xu Huaixi’s image in traditional style began circulating online, major film and television companies rushed to offer him roles.

From then on, his career soared and his name became famous.

Years later, at the cast-and-crew conference for the grand S+ costume drama “Rivers and Mountains as Blades”:

“Hello, Xu Huaixi.”

“Hello, I’m Lin Ziyu, the costume director of this series.”
