A Match Made in Love

1. Chen Mujin fell in love with Pei Yi when she was a teenager. Even his playboy ways, his coldness, and his sharp tongue became virtues in her eyes.

But Pei Yi always treated her like a little sister. She cried as she told him at the airport that she'd never come back.

Then, less than five years later, she returned from abroad, divorced and with a child, full of disappointment.

Pei Yi was just as he had always been, looking at her with a teasing smile, as if mocking her for not keeping her word.

2. Pei Yi used to think Chen Mujin's passionate pursuit was a nuisance. Around her, he reined in his womanizing ways, not wanting her to become infatuated with him.

But when she returned, her smile was gentle and her manner distant.

He thought that was what he wanted.

But later, when his friend used him as an excuse to get close to her, and even her child was willing to accept him, Pei Yi belatedly realized that what he wanted was the very thing he had once pushed away.

Drunk, he called her, relying on the courage alcohol gave him. When another woman answered, he finally realized she no longer wanted to give him a chance.

A bit of a groveling redemption arc, but the male lead stays the same.
