The Female Lead Went Out of Character Even Though I Followed the Original

Qi Lianzhi transmigrated into a cultivation novel as the villainess.

The heroine was a genius sword cultivator who cheated her way to the pinnacle of life. Qi Lianzhi, meanwhile, was a demonic cultivator from the Hehuan Sect who used her looks to seduce people and abused her power to bully them.

Early in the story, the villainess used one idiotic scheme after another to frame the heroine. Perhaps her schemes were so stupid that the author forgot about her: she survived for over a thousand chapters and even became the leader of the Hehuan Sect.

While reading the book, Qi Lianzhi had left one bad review after another. But after becoming the villainess, she was delighted by the warning that she wasn't allowed to act out of character. That meant as long as she followed the original plot, she could live safely to the very end, even in this cruel cultivation world, and maybe even become the sect leader?

So Qi Lianzhi followed the plot to the letter.

Su Zheng acquired a divine weapon, so Qi Lianzhi hurried to steal it, only for Su Zheng to give it to her.

Su Zheng was hunted down, so Qi Lianzhi chased after her to trip her up, only for Su Zheng to think she was trying to save her.

Su Zheng was injured, so Qi Lianzhi secretly added something to the antidote...

After a wild night, Qi Lianzhi was on the verge of tears. Did the Hehuan Sect's medicine vault really not have any proper poisons?

When Su Zheng woke up, she looked at Qi Lianzhi earnestly and said, "I have long understood Miss Qi's feelings. I... won't let you down."

Qi Lianzhi: "..."

Weren't you supposed to be cautious and suspicious, with a mind as clever as a demon's?

How can you trust people so easily?

I followed the original plot to the letter. Why am I acting out of character?

The moment Su Zheng first saw Qi Lianzhi, she knew:

This person was foolish, weak, and empty-headed.

Vain, lustful, and cowardly.

So she pretended to be just the sort of person Qi Lianzhi could deal with, wanting to see what ridiculous things she would do next.

But when Su Zheng came to her senses, she realized she'd set herself on fire.
