With a new production about to begin filming, Sang Sang receives a hotel key card from an investor.
To avoid facing yet another last-minute recasting and yet another rumor that she slept her way into her next role,
Sang Sang, desperate and overwhelmed, remembers the blind date she has already turned down three times.
Originally, she planned to invite her blind date to the same hotel and put on a show of being happily in love, so the investor would back off. That way, everyone could save face and no one would lose out.
But a tiny mishap along the way sends the outcome a hundred thousand miles from what she had planned.
1.
The river shimmers in the distance, neon lights reflecting in the floor-to-ceiling windows. Under the dim, warm lighting,
Wu Xueting's solitary, cool profile suddenly enters Sang Sang's view.
Sang Sang thinks this investor is unusual. Her aura is unusual, and her looks are even more unusual.
So when Sang Sang first sees her, a pang of regret rises in her heart.
What a shame that such a beautiful face and refined air belong to someone with a rotten heart.
She composes herself and puts on a polished, gracious smile. “Thank you for your interest, but my partner and I are in a stable relationship and planning to get married. I'm afraid I can't accept your generous offer.”
Wu Xueting, suddenly informed that they are getting married, turns to her blind date and offers her sincere approval, admiration, and confusion.
“I admit that Miss Sang's beauty is like the element carbon to organic chemistry: it strikes at the hearts of every living creature, myself included. But I'm afraid I don't remember us ever discussing marriage.”
2.
Beneath the glow refracted by the blue water screen, Sang Sang is momentarily dazed.
The damp, clammy feeling from the heat outside still lingers in her palm, yet a one-of-a-kind snowfall begins right in front of her.
Through the snowflakes' faint, razor-sharp glints, Sang Sang catches only the reflection of Wu Xueting's dark eyes.
Then a burning body presses against her back. “This snow belongs to you. It will never end.”
An insistent voice sounds by her ear, accompanied by a fierce heartbeat.
Before the sensation of falling overtakes her, she can barely make out the outline of two fingers.
3.
It isn't until long after the two get together that, on yet another morning when her back aches, her legs feel weak, and she fails to drag herself out of bed, Sang Sang finally understands.
Rumors are seriously not to be trusted.
What happened to the genius with the impossibly high IQ, the aloof beauty who only cares about research?
What about the woman who can't even manage normal social interactions, let alone master the advanced skill of making her girlfriend happy?
Fake. All of it is fake.
Only Sang Sang knows how skilled this woman is behind closed doors, and how willingly she loses herself in every inch of her love.
A gentle academic powerhouse who seems clueless about flirting but is secretly better at it than anyone else x a stunning actress who seems polished and sociable but is actually a miserable little cabbage
