[Instance Seven complete]
Novel blurb:
[Global game worlds have finished merging]
One second, Xin Sui was livestreaming. The next, she passed out. She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, the whole world had changed.
Instances advertised as not requiring players to clear them, but that had to be cleared anyway:
[Huiling Village]
A woman with a muddled mind, her eyes full of love and obsession, watched as a ghostly infant crawled out of the depths of her throat and slowly chewed through her flesh.
"Remember, a room is meant to be lived in."
[Nine-Point Tower]
A nine-story tower, one point per floor. Score ten points to survive and clear it.
A pale-faced roommate questioned her again and again:
"Bei Le, it's curfew. Where are you going?"
[Island Laboratory]
Players who ignored the rules saw rotten food as a delicacy. Yellowing maggots slid down their throats, and their overburdened bellies burst, spilling foul-smelling food scraps everywhere.
"Test subject 1106, aren't you going to run?"
[Surprise Photography Studio]
A servant possessed by a snake, her features taken over and her movements controlled by the dead snake; a broken neck caught in a cage entrance, clean water mixing with blood as it sprayed everywhere...
The photography studio has rave reviews. Are you really the person in the photograph?
The pursuit begins in earnest.
Scattered clues are gathered piece by piece, eventually forming a vast world.
This is another world.
The unserious version:
As a veteran player and a successful person, Xin Sui was once asked in an interview about the secret to her success. She waved a hand grandly: Roll the footage!
[Nine-Point Tower]
The school rules contradict the handbook?
The clearing conditions can't coexist with the rules for climbing the tower?
Other players (the version where they fail and get dragged away by NPCs): Ignore the rules and charge right in!
My Sis Xin: Make a clock, turn back time, and exploit a bug.
Victim No. 1, Mierles (sobbing): You have no idea. She was perfectly fine at the time, and then (suddenly agitated)! She secretly made a holy sword behind my back and killed me (hides face and cries)!
[Rose Manor]
You can't leave without drinking, but once you drink, you can't get out?
Player No. 1 (still not sober): I'm a great drinker, and our bond runs deep, so I'll down it in one go!
Player No. 2 (the lucky one who escaped alive): I'm flipping the table!!!
My Sis Xin: Distract the NPC, make a little pair of wings, and fly out of the huge manor.
Victim No. 2, Mr. Rose (drinking with his head down): I actually felt sorry for her because she was allergic to alcohol (wipes his face), but she secretly twisted herself into a pair of wings while I wasn't looking and just left (complaining)! The worst part is (eyes bloodshot)! The next time we met, she was downing drinks with another boss like they were the best of friends. Boohoohoo (breaks down)!
[Two-Faced Academy]
Are the teachers kind and pleasant by day, but terrifying by night?
Do only your nighttime grades count?
Other players: Wailing as they fight monsters with one hand and take exams with the other.
[Obtained permission to use firearms]
My Sis Xin: I'm flying~ You're the one who's finished!
Victim No. 3, Shadow Principal (fake version): Xin Sui is a very diligent student (pushes up his glasses). It would be even better if she didn't tease the teachers next time (calmly).
Victim No. 3, Shadow Principal (real version) (crawling ominously) (twisting) (weeping bitterly) (panting): Boohoohoo, she blew up my whole school! Then she threatened to blow it up again if I didn't say nice things about her! Boohoohoo! Won't somebody do something...?
Xin Sui (with a serious expression): If you walk through the darkness, you yourself become the light. If you walk through the ruins, you must choose to rebuild tomorrow!
The audience (applauding): Clap, clap, clap!
[Reading guide and content notes:]
* The heroine's skill is similar to Ma Liang's magic brush. Within her level limits, her twisty sticks can be made into any object. But! The heroine is smart, not reckless! She figures out how to clear each instance one step at a time. The items are just the icing on the cake! The skill will gradually become less prominent in the middle and later parts of the story.
* A variety of instance types, including Chinese-style horror, races, rule-based mysteries, and escape scenarios.
* The male lead's skill is only supportive.
* A quick introduction to twisty sticks: a wire wrapped in fluffy fibers. You can bend the wire into different shapes to make all kinds of things. If you don't know what they are, that's all you need to know. It won't affect your reading!
* Important: No unsolicited writing advice.
My upcoming novel, "I'm a Folklorist in the Land of the Strange [Infinite]," is in my author profile!
Please add it to your favorites (flips hair coolly) (smiles wickedly)
"I'm a Folklorist in the Land of the Strange [Infinite]"
Jin An, a college student and self-proclaimed spokesperson for chronic laziness, died suddenly because she was too lazy.
Cause of death: Didn't want to close her eyes, stayed up far too late.
She closed her eyes, opened them again, and found herself dumped in a town that was strange at every turn
An old woman who was blind but refused to leave, a young man with stitches all over his neck, waist, and belly, a coffin lid that suddenly sprang open again and again, and a baby girl trapped in a paper doll who cried every night...
Looking at the things before her that were gradually becoming familiar, Jin An suddenly perked up.
She seemed to have... returned to her happy place.
To stop Jin An from rambling on about strange folk customs every day, her homeroom teacher expressly forbade her from studying folklore and ghost stories at school.
Jin An was too lazy to argue, so she went along with it.
Then, having lost her only interest, she became even lazier.
In the end, she died of laziness.
"You're the 98,543rd person to apply for the doctor position in our town." A man whose eyes had been gouged out sat straight-backed at a wooden table and stared at Jin An with his empty eyes.
"You still haven't found one?" Jin An asked casually, not particularly eager to accept.
"Successfully treating more than twenty patients comes with a very generous reward," the man said evenly.
"Oh."
"For example, getting your homeroom teacher to let you continue studying folklore and ghost stories."
"." Jin An slowly straightened up. "I DO."
Reading guide:
1. Infinite-flow instances set against a backdrop of folklore and ghost stories.
2. Each instance's background corresponds to the larger setting.
3. Important: No unsolicited writing advice.
Theme: Stand on your own, be strong, and never give up.
(Probe) (Handsome takes out small blackboard) (Knock knock) Recommend the articles of my gay friends - "Don't be nervous, I'm not a good person" by teacher Qian Shanse and "I told you I'm not a ghost [Infinite]" by teacher Hu Lanlv, and of course the pre-released "There is a School for Superpowers in Space [End Times]" by Ben Li.
I still want to ask, what was it that she vomited out? It couldn't be what I thought it was, right?
