Synopsis:

You Luo discovers that her poker-faced childhood friend, Diluc, is keeping a secret.

By day, he acts like he wants nothing to do with anyone he doesn't know,

but at night, he becomes a dark hero who sweeps away evil!

On the eve of the Windblume Festival, You Luo gets a sudden craving for alcohol and sneaks into the Dawn Winery cellar.

After eating and drinking her fill, she heads back to Mondstadt, only to run into a mutant Slime along the way.

With no Vision and only a few punches and kicks to her name, You Luo turns and runs.

"Don't you dare chase me! Aaaah!"

There's no way she can outrun a mutant Slime!

Just as it's about to catch her, a familiar figure appears up ahead. A blazing phoenix of fire flashes past, leaving You Luo stunned.

Was that... Diluc?

She tries to go over and ask him, but a hapless passerby who nearly got hurt grabs her hand and says in a trembling voice, "S-so you're the Darknight Hero!"

"What?!"

You Luo is dumbfounded. The next day, a rumor spreads through Mondstadt that Miss You Luo of the Flores family is the Darknight Hero.

In a panic, she rushes to Dawn Winery and finds Diluc leisurely sipping grape juice.

"You're the Darknight Hero, right? Help me explain!"

"I'm not."

"I saw you! The fire phoenix!"

"You don't have any proof."

You Luo grits her teeth, then hears Diluc say:

"How about you settle the bill for the wine you stole yesterday first?"

You Luo flies into a rage.

Seriously! Why are everyone else's childhood friends gentle and considerate, while mine is a coldhearted, stone-faced jerk?

But later, Diluc saves You Luo from danger time and time again,

and she gradually changes her mind.

Actually, her childhood friend is pretty handsome!

A-and his smile is lovely, and his lips are so soft...

Reading Guide:

1. An alcohol-dependent girl vs. a cool, aloof young nobleman.

2. Features Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma (three nations, with a slight ensemble cast feel).

3. The heroine has an alcohol dependency. When a craving hits, she gets dizzy if she doesn't drink. She has no Vision at the start, so when enemies show up, she relies on her fists and running away.

4. A self-indulgent story, told in third person, with plenty of original details. Some out-of-character moments are inevitable (emphasis added), and the timeline is messy, so don't overthink it.
