The Overworked Female Lead Lies Flat

* A shut-in versus a control freak, healing each other

* I got a lot of feedback on my last book, so I'm writing a fun, lighthearted short story to cheer everyone up. This one is genuinely an easygoing, no-brainer sweet romance!

* A completely different world from the one where they blew up the company

Gu Yu, a corporate drone, dies from working overtime and wakes up in an old-fashioned novel. But she decides to lie flat.

The book's male lead, Wen Zhenghan, is a gloomy control freak. Though he's the executive chairman, he leaves his huge company unmanaged and spends all day hovering around the female lead.

The female lead chats with someone, and he gets upset.

The female lead is out of touch for half an hour, and he goes crazy.

The female lead works overtime until midnight, and he gets a house with a room full of chains and surveillance cameras covering every inch.

A normal heroine can't accept such a suffocating life, and in the end, they destroy each other and the story ends in tragedy.

But the shut-in Gu Yu's eyes light up: a spacious apartment, blazing-fast Wi-Fi, a personal housekeeper, and more money than she can spend.

Most important of all, she finally doesn't have to keep up fake friendships with her coworkers. She never has to socialize again. Introverts rejoice!

Besides, the male lead, Wen Zhenghan, is a romantic at heart. As long as he can keep tabs on her, he's perfectly content. Gu Yu looks at Wen Zhenghan's impossibly handsome, otherworldly face and nods. Works for me.

And so Gu Yu lives a blissfully contented life, while Wen Zhenghan finds someone to devote his heart to.

He asks about Gu Yu's whereabouts a dozen times a day, and the servants always give him the same answer:

At home!

After three months of this, Wen Zhenghan finally can't take it anymore. "Why don't you go out for a bit?"

Gu Yu munches on snacks. "But I... munch munch... still haven't finished... munch munch... the new game... munch munch... my manga... munch munch... or my TV series... munch munch..."

Wen Zhenghan snatches away her snacks and orders her, "Starting today, you have to go out at least once a week!"

Gu Yu is on the verge of tears.
