Lush Leaves in the Spring Garden (Married First, Love Later)

* Quirky girl x steady, self-possessed man

* Marriage first, love later. The heroine marries in college, and the hero is eight years older. Read with caution if that bothers you.

In her sophomore year of college, Ye Weirui was pressured by her parents into registering her marriage to the man she had been betrothed to since childhood.

When they went to register, they acted so distant that the staff repeatedly confirmed that they were both marrying of their own free will.

Ye Weirui said yes.

But she didn't accept this arranged marriage. She told everyone that her husband was her boyfriend, then acted as if she'd forgotten he existed, making a scene and venting her displeasure however she pleased.

The head of the Song family in Beicheng had been rather troubled lately. His young wife was simply too impulsive.

Today, she decided she didn't like the flowers in the garden, his favorites, and immediately ordered them all uprooted.

Tomorrow, she might remodel his study, changing it from wabi-sabi to Baroque.

But these were minor things... until she stayed out all night.

Song Tingxuan stormed into a bar to drag her home.

He found Ye Weirui at a booth, drinking against someone. The velvet camisole had slipped off her shoulder, and her delicate, graceful face was flushed with drunkenness.

For the first time, he lost his composure in front of everyone. Song Tingxuan's handsome face darkened as he stepped forward and snatched away her glass.

Her roommate tried to reason with him. "Even if you're her boyfriend, you can't be this controlling, can you?"

Boyfriend? Song Tingxuan sneered.

That night, Song Tingxuan had the bar booked out and everyone cleared away, then pinned her against the booth with his powerful arms.

Ye Cangrui couldn't break free. She bit his arm hard, leaving a bright red ring of teeth marks, and, drunk and hazy-eyed, mistook him for the male escort she'd ordered.

Song Tingxuan leaned down, his commanding presence filling the space between them. He said quietly:

"Mrs. Song, tell them. Who am I to you?"

"I hope you'll remember that someone is waiting for you at home tonight."
