Shi He is useless. He's neither smart nor kind, and only got into this highly selective research institute through his family's connections. He uses his power to bully his colleagues and steal their work, which is the only reason he's managed to stay at the institute.
The stolen work gives Shi He a taste for success, and soon he's no longer satisfied. He sets his sights on the brilliant scientist who's currently making waves.
If the scientist is a genius, surely he can provide Shi He with even more valuable research, right?
Slander, coercion, seduction... Shi He tries every trick in the book.
Shi He feels nothing but calm, and even wants to laugh. After all that, there's no way this story won't end badly.
Yet for some reason, the genius scientist isn't angry. Instead, he researches with Shi He and even offers up his own work.

Evolvers and aberrants are naturally opposing factions.
Shi He plays the role of a deceitful, hideous, dangerous aberrant to perfection.
The evolver should have killed Shi He the moment they met, but he hesitates.
After all, Shi He is just too beautiful and dazzling, nothing like those dark, revolting aberrants.
Even when Shi He pierces the evolver's chest with his claws, the evolver merely pulls them out gently and smiles as he praises Shi for getting stronger.
