Wen Xi was the most flamboyant and free-spirited woman in Bianjing. She had loved one man since childhood, their parents approved, and their engagement was settled.
On her wedding day, her heart full of joy, all she saw was a crowd of soldiers. Her fiancé led them, sword in hand, and slaughtered everyone in her household.
*
When Wen Xi opened her eyes again, she had returned to five days before her wedding.
To protect everyone in her household, she had no choice but to seek out the man she had once hurt.
Wei Xun, the emperor’s younger brother, was said to be bloodthirsty and to never go near women.
But no one knew that when he was sixteen, he had climbed over the wall into the Wen residence, broken and desperate, and begged, "Xiao Xi, don’t choose him. Choose me."
Wen Xi rejected him outright and said many cruel things.
After that, Wei Xun never appeared before her again.
*
That night,
Wen Xi stopped Wei Xun’s carriage as he was returning to his residence.
She called out to him, "A Xun."
No one in all of Bianjing knew that they had once helped each other through the three loneliest years of their lives.
"Do you still mean what you said back then?"
Wei Xun sneered. "I don’t remember."
Wen Xi pressed on. "You said that if one day I had nowhere to go and no one to rely on, you would be my support."
Wei Xun stared at the girl beneath the moonlight. All he could think of were the tearful girl who had been so hard to console during those three years, and his own bad temper, which had somehow softened for her alone.
They had promised to stay by each other’s side forever, but the girl had deceived him.
They met again two years later. By then, she was another man’s fiancée.
Watching her smile at someone else with her eyes curved in happiness, Wei Xun’s gaze turned sinister. He promptly had the man thrown into prison.
With the eyesore gone, Wei Xun climbed over the wall into the Wen residence, wearing the same robe he had worn when they first met. But later, he could no longer remember what the weather had been like that day. All he remembered was the disgust in Wen Xi’s voice.
Now she had come to ask him for help. Wei Xun found it laughable. His voice was cold, with a hint of vengeful satisfaction. "Fine. Then marry me."
Reading guide:
1. Set in a fictional dynasty, with a small ensemble cast. Both leads are each other’s first and only.
2. The heroine really did like someone else at first, and the hero really did confess and get rejected, haha. So he hides in the shadows and makes life difficult for her every day, which means beating up the other guy.
3. The blurb is just window dressing. There’s no need to judge or criticize it without reading the story. Thanks.
4. If you don’t like it, just click away. I won’t claim my writing or plot is great. Different strokes for different folks, so don’t make things hard on yourself or others.

Coming next: My Childhood Sweetheart. Blurb:
Yu Qing had a childhood sweetheart.
At seven, she found him by the roadside and brought him back to the palace to raise.
At fourteen, she sent him to the battlefield.
At eighteen, he was made a general.
Seeing so many gentle, beautiful noblewomen gathered around the young man, Yu Qing gritted her teeth. She decided to put away her vicious little glare, went to the imperial kitchens, and brought him a plate of pastries as if presenting a treasure.
But the young man didn’t even give her a glance. He was cold as ice.
Yu Qing cursed him as an ungrateful wretch and decided never to speak to him again.
That night, she tossed and turned, then suddenly heard a noise outside the palace hall.
She got up to look.
There he was, sitting beneath the tree where they used to enjoy the shade together as children, his face gloomy as he asked, "Why didn’t you come looking for me?"
Yu Qing: "..."
I did come. You were cold to me.
The young man added, "I’m still angry."
Yu Qing: "?"
I haven’t even gotten angry yet, and you have the nerve to be angry? You ungrateful wretch!
"You didn’t come to see me off when I went to war, and you didn’t come out of the city to welcome me when I returned. So I’m angry."
Hearing the young man’s disappointment, Yu Qing’s heart ached. She looked up at him, her eyes sincere and bright. "Then I’ll see you off every time you go to war from now on, okay?"
When he didn’t answer, she raised her hand and swore an earnest oath.
Unfortunately, the night was too dark for her to see the smile in his eyes.
Just as she would never know that the young man had resolved to go to war that year only to earn fame and status, so he could be worthy of her, the princess of such exalted rank.
A seemingly vicious but actually kind little princess x a proud young general who can’t keep up his act for more than three seconds.
Theme: Darkness will pass, and light will return.
I think we can write about whether Wei An and the Queen Mother had any regrets after Wei Xun died in love in the previous life. We can write about Wei An in the previous life who killed all the generals, plus assassins, and Wei Xun also died in love. What was the fate of this country later.

[Orange Candy] Got it It's a pity that there is no story about the emperor and empress. I feel that they should be very interesting too.
