After the Ice-Cold Beauty Mistakes Someone Else for Me

It was dark then. Lu Zhaoheng wrapped his arms around her from behind. Listening closely, she realized he was calling her elder sister, "A Yu," in an intimate voice.

After a moment of silence, perhaps realizing he had mistaken her for someone else, Lu Zhaoheng said, "I'm sorry," and let go. He returned to his usual cool, distant self.

After that night, Lu Zhaoheng remained the refined and principled young gentleman of Qingqiu. Only Xu Yuan was left, lost in that embrace, their hearts pressed close together through two different bodies.

Xu Yuan had admired the eldest son of the Lu family for a long time.

So when Lu Zhaoheng mistook her for someone else, she did not stop him in time.

What Xu Yuan never expected was that this would not be the only "mistake" to follow. Even the marriage between her elder sister and Lu Zhaoheng turned out to be a mistake.

On the night she married Lu Zhaoheng,

the red candles burned bright. Xu Yuan knew his heart belonged to her elder sister, and that marrying her was only a formality. He would not come.

Unable to bear the ache in her heart, Xu Yuan shed tears. Then someone lifted her veil, and she looked up at Lu Zhaoheng, tears glistening in her eyes. Xu Yuan froze.

After their marriage, the two treated each other with respect, like honored guests. The only thing anyone could criticize was that they still had not consummated their marriage. But Xu Yuan was already content to be his wife in name.

Until one night, Lu Zhaoheng did not go to his study.

His hot breath brushed against her ear, and Xu Yuan realized then that he had long since let go of her elder sister.

There was only one woman Lu Zhaoheng ever loved.

She was not the eldest daughter of the Xu family, though Xu Yuan did not know that.

Just as Xu Yuan did not know that his eyesight had always been excellent.
