Later, Shu Wei watched as sinister black snake scales appeared along his childhood friend’s spine, and the pale Snake God tore through his human skin and returned to life.

The cold snake tail swept across the marble floor, intimate and unsettling.

The Snake God flicked his tongue and asked softly, “Are you... my mate?”

Shu Wei: “...”

Shu Wei said earnestly, “You don’t look like you’re in a very clear state of mind.”
