I Wasn't Human, but I Became the Savior

In the 25th century, a curse descended.

Anyone afflicted by it would become a mutated creature driven by desire or fear.

On the day Cheng Mingyi became a mutated creature, something calling itself a Savior System came to her.

“As long as you earn enough Faith Points and save the world, you can avoid death and injury, command thousands upon thousands of mutated underlings, and even regain a human appearance.”

Cheng Mingyi: But I want to die more than anything.

System: ?

Cheng Mingyi suddenly burst with joy: I can let a horde of mutated creatures beat me to death!

System: ...

Blue Star became a living hell, and the survivor base was packed to capacity.

The base's leaders decided to launch a Cleansing Plan: get rid of the useless people wasting resources.

The new arrival, Cheng Mingyi, as delicate as a little white flower, was one of them.

Some people gloated. Others took advantage of the situation.

But when an army of mutated creatures attacked, Cheng Mingyi, the “useless one,” charged at the front.

The mutated creatures fled in every direction, but Cheng Mingyi chased after them relentlessly.

The leaders: That's enough! Stop fighting!

Cheng Mingyi: As long as (I) don't die, keep beating (me) to death!

The survivors: Moved.jpg

The mutated creatures: Too scared to move.jpg

The System watched its Faith Points surge and froze.jpg: That works?!

On the day Cheng Mingyi, the apocalypse's greatest hero, became the base's leader, her identity as a mutated creature was accidentally exposed.

The survivors ignored everything Cheng Mingyi had done and drove her out of the base.

They thought that would keep them safe.

Until divine punishment descended. Everyone became a mutated creature, slaughtering the kind they had once belonged to.

Cheng Mingyi stood forth, trading her own destruction for the lives of billions of people.

The apocalypse ended, but humanity had lost its savior.

From then on, Cheng Mingyi was no more, and neither was the undying one.
